The country’s locally-owned and operated leading general insurer has broadened its reach across the country to now have 18 agents.
SUN Insurance, a listed company on the South Pacific Stock Exchange, said, also acknowledges the work of its agents in generating awareness.
“Education in insurance is key,” principal officer, Avikash Ram, said.
“We want to be in every town in this country, where people have access to banks and insurance.
Part of its outreach campaign is carried out on social media.
Through both channels, insurance penetration reach has increased 20 per cent, he said.
Within the first six months of 2025, SUN reported market an increase in market penetration by 70 per cent.
Last weekend, SUN gathered its agents to acknowledge their efforts in an awards night at The Pearl, Pacific Harbour.
The winners were:
- Best performing agent for 2025 – Sanjeevan Nair (Nakasi/Suva);
- Best up & coming agent for 2025 – Surendra Prasad (Suva);
- Best corporate agent for 2025 – Fiji Development Bank.
The Chairmans Excellence Award was given to:
- Avikash Pillay (Savusavu),
- Vinod Chand (Labasa),
- Navketan Singh (Ba, Rakiraki, Tavua).
SUN’s Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Thomas Naua.
The company was officially listed on the securities market in August last year, after the company’s successful initial public offering.
