In an effort to provide a harmonious and productive working environment, BSP Financial Group Ltd – Fiji Branch, has signed its first Collective Agreement after major negotiations with the Fiji Bank Finance Sector and Employees Union (FBFSEU).

“The well-being of our employees is paramount to our success as an organisation,” said BSP Country Head, Haroon Ali.

“This agreement aligns with the amended Fiji Employment Relations Act 2007 and will serve as a testament to our efforts to enhance job satisfaction, improve productivity, uphold our core values and socially responsible business practices.”

The Collective Agreement 2024, which was vetted and negotiated by all parties, encompasses allowances, leave benefits and other notable advantages which are focused on balancing the interests of both the bank and its employees.

BSP thanked Union Secretary, Anit Singh and his BSP Council members for their professionalism during the negotiation process.

“This Agreement covers over 70 per cent of our employee headcount, and we have committed to updating policies so all employees enjoy the same benefits and job security,” Mr Ali said.

The National Secretary of the FBFSEU said this was a historical moment for BSP union members as they had been negotiating for a Collective Agreement for the last three years.

BSP has been without a Collective Agreement for more than 12 years due to banks being categorised under the Essential Services and Industries Decree (ENI Decree 2011).
