COVID-19 Test Training to Benefit Fiji Tourism Stakeholders
“It is also very educational for every hotel worker and tourists coming into the country so when we are going to promote Fiji, we want to showcase to the rest of the world how fast and efficient Fijian people are in keeping everybody safe,” she said.

About 68 tourism stakeholders in the Central Division will now be able to conduct COVID-19 tests on tourists.
This is after they underwent COVID-19 Antigen Rapid test training at Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva, yesterday.
The training was organised by the Emergency Medical Services in conjunction with Tourism Fiji and Ministry of Health and Medical Services.

Tourism Fiji chief operations officer James Pridgeon said the purpose was to facilitate COVID-19 Antigen Rapid test training for the tourism stakeholders.
“As we know that the borders will reopen on December 1, hotels are required to assist and work with the Ministry of Health and Medical Services in facilitating rapid antigen tests."
“This will happen after the first 48 hours of the visitors arriving in Fiji where they need to stay the first three days in the CareFiji Commitment (CFC) certified hotel,” he said.

“It is a big challenge for us, but we know that we can tackle it,” she said.
Amy Street Pharmacy pharmacist Raginal Lal said the training has taught them how tourism operators can help in testing the COVI-19 using Antigen Rapid test kit.
“I am from the pharmacy industry and now I know how to perform the test and what actions we can take in order to respond to various authorities and individuals on this test,” he said.
Today the COVID-19 Antigen Rapid test training will be held at the Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa for the tourism operators in the Western Division.
