COVID-19: Fiji Airways Flies Freight from USA, Flies Missionaries Home
On Saturday night, a Fiji Airways A350 aircraft left Nadi on a private chartered flight carrying 300 missionaries from the Pacific to Salt Lake City, Utah.

A Fiji Airways Airbus A350-900 climbs out of Salt Lake City International Airport in Utah, USA, yesterday. The charter flight from Nadi took home to America Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-day Saints missionaries working in four Pacific Islands countries. It then flew on to Los Angeles. There it picked up cargo destined for Fiji. Meanwhile, a Fiji Airways freighter flight took export cargo to Sydney yesterday. It brought back relief supplies to help in the battle against the coronavirus pandemic. Fiji Airways is bringing cargo from the United States of America after it delivered missionaries from the Pacific to Salt Lake City, Utah.
On Saturday night, at left Nadi on a private chartered flight carrying 300 missionaries from the Pacific to Salt Lake City, Utah.
The missionaries of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints were from four Pacific Island countries - Fiji, Tonga, Kiribati and the Marshall Islands.

A statement from the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints said the rapidly developing travel advisories and restrictions emerging around the world presented significant logistical and other challenges.
The LDS church said a substantial number of missionaries needed to return to their home nations to continue their service.
Their repatriation would be carried out in a systematic way based on the urgency of travel restrictions, the level of coronavirus and other considerations.
The church said returning missionaries would go through a 14-day period of self-isolation before they could serve within their home country, based on local conditions.
