Transam Fiji PTE Ltd, part of the Neptune Pacific Direct Line Group is in its final stages of preparing the itinerary to welcome cruise liners back into Fiji waters.

Transam is expecting their first welcome of a renowned cruise liner on August 22.

The company says this is expected to be reviewed.

There are currently nine Transam Shipping agencies located in American Samoa, Fiji, New Caledonia, Norfolk Island, Samoa, Tahiti, Tonga, Vanuatu and Wallis. The shipping agency continues to grow.

The Transam network is by far the largest shipping agency network in the Pacific and in Fiji, Transam has partnered with Williams & Gosling Limited since 1997.

Transam Shipping agencies are all equipped with modern technologies which make 24 hour communication a convenience and a breath of fresh air to its customers.

In response to questions, the shipping agency said it was still in its discussion phase concerning the expectancy of the arrival of more cruise liners.

Transam said most of the cruise liners were coming from Australia. “We are still reviewing itineraries at the moment with respective cruise brands and will reconfirm as and when it’s released,” said Transam.

“This will generally benefit Fiji. Cruise tourism contributes evenly to Fiji’s economy, through tourism

partners, small micro-businesses, towns, cities and villages."

“Vendors will also need to adhere to COVID protocols that are currently being organized with certification from Tourism Fiji.”

The shipping agency conveyed its appreciation to the Government, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Commerce, Trade Tourism and Transport, Fiji Ports Corporation Limited and Tourism Fiji for ensuring formalized structured process to safely open Fiji’s borders to cruise liners.
