Crushing Season Ends, Lautoka Sugar Mill Produces 47,602 Tonnes

FSC stated that the mill crushed a total of 514,892 tonnes of cane this year producing 47,602 tonnes of sugar.

The Lautoka Mill concluded the 2022 crushing season last Tuesday.

In a statement, the Fiji Sugar Corporation (FSC) said with the 2022 crushing season coming to an end, the Lautoka Mill performed well with significantly reduced inside stops despite the obvious challenges faced by the mills like the escalation of burnt cane, poor harvesting efforts and increase in extraneous matter through mechanically harvested cane.
