I’m grateful for all the support over the years which has enabled me to venture out and start my own business, says Rehana Dean.
Ms Dean is a member of the South Pacific Business Development (SPBD) programme joining the Lakena Women sector.
Through the programme, she started her sewing business in 2018.

Originally from Sigatoka, the mother of two didn’t look back despite the odds.
Ms Dean said, when she started she had no financial support to back her up but with the support of her husband she was able to run the business.
Ms Dean also runs a small community canteen in Lakena, Nausori.
“I faced a lot of challenges but this did not undermine my aim to start a business.”
The 44-year-old is thankful to her mother for teaching her sewing skills and meeting customers’ demands on a daily basis.
She advises budding entrepreneurs to make an effort and create something out of nothing that will enable them to have proper financial management.
