FCCC and Projects Abroad Fiji Partner To Target Increased Outreach

The Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission (FCCC) has partnered with Projects Abroad Fiji in efforts to develop robust engagement pro­grammes.

This programmes will elevate public knowledge on consumer rights and responsibilities.

About the partnerships

The partnership with Projects Abroad Fiji via a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) will see international volunteers with ex­pertise in community outreach engaging in awareness raising programmes with the required as­sistance from FCCC.

Under the MOU, FCCC shall pro­vide guidance to the international volunteers on areas requiring awareness, train them on the in­formation to be shared with the communities and schools in par­ticular and, provide promotional materials and other assistance as and when required.

Projects Abroad Fiji is a volun­teer facilitating organisation help­ing engage volunteers to create a positive impact in the communi­ties and as part of the MOU they will prepare the international volunteers accordingly to ensure they follow the standard rules and procedures of the educational ses­sions.

“The essence of such a collabora­tion is to create a more informed and knowledgeable Fijian mar­ket who are able to exercise their rights where needed, identify unethical practices and contact the relevant authority when re­quired,” said FCCC chief execu­tive officer Joel Abraham.

Mr Abraham, said that the MOU will greatly assist FCCC in achiev­ing its Strategic Goals and achiev­ing FCCC’s vision and mission.

He added increased awareness will allow to reach out to people who are otherwise unable to ac­cess the services and seek assis­tance in a timely manner.

The MOU was signed at the FCCC office by the FCCC Commissioner Romil Patel and Projects Abroad Organisation Limited Country Di­rector Karishma Nandan.
