A consultant is being sought by Fiji Airports to draw up a 10-year plan for a smart, green gateway.

And a three-year rolling business plan will be drawn up when the successful consultant is hired, Fiji Airports said.

It is among efforts to transform Fiji’s aviation sector into world class experience, Fiji Airports said.

Fiji Airports advertised an expression of interest - which close this month - where it outlined the objective, scope, deliberables and payment schedule for such a consultant.

A two-day workshop is also expected to be led by the consultant, to review the organisation’s mission, vision, business plans and governance documents.

Fiji Airports has proposed that an employer satisfaction survey be carried out, the results of which would inform strategy development.

According to Fiji Airports, the consultant must present an inception report within 10 working days of signing the contract.

A 15-day timeline has been prescribed by Fiji Airports for customer and stakeholder mapping and an analysis of Fiji Airports operations.

“The consultant is expected to carry out the assignment for a period of 40 days, using estimated level of effort,” Fiji Airports said.

The consultant must have experience in developing strategic plans for airports and air traffic management.

Meanwhile, Fiji Airports Construction Works continues, six years after it was initiated by consultant David Crute.

Such construction works commenced in June, 2017, and is listed on the organisation’s website as ongoing.

Part of the specifications paper states the need to “match existing adjacent work”.

Under the headline Joining Up, the operational specs document said:

  • Where the method of joining up of old and new work is not specified, the cutting away and joining up must be carried out by the contractor in a manner approved by the FA, and made good in all trades to match existing adjacent work to the extent reasonably practicable.
