Fiji Sugar Corporation: $40 Million Paid Out To Cane Farmers

Fiji Sugar Corporation Limited’s (FSC) third cane payment to sugar­cane farmers for the 2022 harvest season, was amongst its highest on record.

FSC said this year’s third cane pay­ment of $24.62 a tonne was amongst the highest in the last two decades.

Chief executive officer Bhan Pratap Singh said the net share of the sug­arcane growers’ cane proceeds re­ceived as of February 28 2022, was $185,454,314.

The sum is equivalent to $78.15 a tonne of cane, in accordance with the Sugar Industry Master Award.
