Film Rebate Under Review

The Government will review to determine the effectiveness of rebates paid to overseas filmmakers.

It followed the discovery of an outstanding sum of $180 million owed to overseas film makers.

The Government paid out rebates of $235.5 million, said Minister for Finance Biman Prasad.

Rebates were film incentives regulated under the Income Tax Act 2015, called Film Making and Audio-Visual Incentives Regulation 2016.
