Frezco Beverages Pte Ltd is engaging into more cost effective measures in its bottling, logistic and other areas of the business to stay competitive.

The current decline in tourism numbers that poses as a challenge, doesn’t deter Frezco Beverages to push on.

Founder and chief executive officer Altaaf Jamal said the survival of the fittest will be tested.

Investment

Mr Jamal said: “We have made solid investments into our process line and solar energy project for 2020 to say we are able to surf the roughest waves by staying positive and committed to our brand, quality, environment and customers.”

“Most of our clients are from Asian countries, exports of our Noni products to China declined because of the Coronavirus (COVID19) pandemic.

“The current challenge the company faces is tourist numbers have declined from Asian countries which made up sales for first quarter of 2020.

“Since Fiji’s major industry is tourism and if the tourist numbers decline then it is obvious for the ripple effect to take place.

“Exports to China for our Noni Products declined as well due to COVID19.

“The overall decline has impacted our major export into China, Korea and Japan market.”

Shipment

However, he said the company was able to ship in early January, 10 containers of AQUA Pacific Water to Wuhan in China and now the shipment is waiting clearance in Wuhan.

“We hope this will be cleared and making the retail outlets soon.

“We just signed an agreement to grow exports last November with Distributor in Wuhan and was anticipating good volume for 2020.”

Coronavirus outbreak

He said every business was somehow getting the heat from Coronavirus.

“Yes, Frezco invested over a million dollars to turn its Aqua Pacific® Natural Mineral Water bottling Plant in Nadi Highlands into Solar Energy Source for bottling all its “Refillable 15L bottles” and Resort 330mls Water from this 100 per cent Renewable Energy source by June this year.

“Second stage will be by 2021 to make all production from 100 per cent Renewable Solar Energy and making the Only Water Bottling Company in the South Pacific to be using 100 per cent Solar Energy for Bottling of Artesian Mineral Water.”

Bula branded Noni Juice

Meanwhile, he said there are 10 good reasons why people should keep drinking Fijian or Bula branded Noni Juice in particular. These two brands are exclusively Sold in Jack’s of Fiji and Tappoo’s Dutyfree outlets Fiji Wide.

“It is an ancient Herbal remedy that has been used in fighting many different virus and also keeping the immune system strong.

“The old Fijians can tell a story on Noni (Kura) which was given to tribal warriors and people back in the days.”
