Hard work and loyalty. Those were the two qualities that attributed to Yadua Bay Resort & Villas Duty Manager, Romit Narayan to be awarded the Hexagon Group of Hotels 2018 Employee of of the year.
About Romit Narayan
This young and energetic man joined the company in 2010 where he was based at the Grand Wests Villas in various departments such as Rooms Division, Front Office Reception and Administration.
Related stories
After a year in the Rooms Division Department he got promoted as the Accounts Officer at the Groups Finance accounts office where he spent 5 years.
He was than promoted to be the Accounts Supervisor from 2016 till 2018.
Romit was fully involved in all aspects of work in the Finance Department including IT support services and providing staff training and development in this section.
In December, 2018 Romit got promoted by the Group Chairman, Hafiz Khan to be the Duty Manger at our new resort the Yadua Bay Resort, Villas & Spa which is due to open soon at Malaqereqere, near Sigatoka.
Mr. Hafiz Khan said that Romit has been a loyal and hardworking employee who had a ambition to progress through the ranks within the Hexagon Group.
His hard work has paid off in his promotion as the Duty Manager and being awarded the Group Employee of the Year Award.
Housekeeping Head of Department, Makelesi Saukuru
Makelesi has been with Grand Wests Villas for over 15 years.
She was transferred from Melanesian Hotel to Grand West Villas in 2003.
She was employed in the housekeeping department full time until 2015 when Makelesi was given the opportunity to step up and take the position of the House Keeper HOD to date.
Makelesi also assists in the F&B Department when we have large catering functions and she is also responsible for the conference room when required.
Makelesi was awarded the employee of the year last 2017 for housekeeping & employee of the month for February 2018 and again for December 2018.
The Group Chairman- Mr. Hafiz Khan said that Makelesi was a fine example of a long serving loyal employee who let her work and results speak for her.
Makelesi is a gentle and humbly quiet person. She has been able to lead to her team to achieve high standards in the work that she does for the Hotel.
This is reflected in the many awards that she has won in her work excellence.
