Marriott International Fiji Hotels announced the promotion of its two high-performing associates within its team.

Javed Shameem has been appointed as Market Director of Sales and Distribution, Fiji and Samoa while Farrah Shazleen has been appointed Market Director of Human Resources, Fiji, and Samoa.

Multi-Property Vice President Pacific Islands, Neeraj Chadha said, “We are delighted to announce the promotion of Javed Shameem and Farrah Shazleen, reflecting the remarkable home-grown talent from our Fiji hotels.”

The properties that will now be overseen in their respective roles include Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay, Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort, Sheraton Denarau Villas, Sheraton Resort & Spa, Tokoriki Island Fiji, The Westin Denarau Island Resort & Spa, Sheraton Samoa Beach Resort and Sheraton Samoa Aggie Grey’s Hotel & Bungalows.

Mr Shameem has been a part of Marriott International Fiji since 2017, when he joined as the pre-opening director of business development for Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay.

He played a pivotal role in the inception of the proactive sales cluster for Marriott International Hotels in Fiji.

Under his guidance, the sales team has achieved record-breaking performances post-COVID-19, contributing to the unprecedented success of Marriott Fiji’s resorts.

Ms Shazleen, who was named HR Leader of the Year for ANZP in 2022, joined Marriott Fiji in 2018 as the Cluster Director of Human Resources for Fiji Properties.

Her leadership has been instrumental in navigating business challenges, including supporting teams during COVID-19 and reopening Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort, Sheraton Denarau Villas, and Sheraton Resort & Spa, Tokoriki Island Fiji.

Ms Shazleen has also played a role in implementing the Fiji Employment Framework, launching the Fiji Marriott Training Academy, and driving the Solia Lesu programme to support the local community.
