Korean food which are known for its health benefits have the potential by meeting a grown demand in the Pacific.
These were the sentiments shared by the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Fiji, Shin-hee CHO at the 2020 Korea Agro- Fisheries Food Fair and Tasting event yesterday.

The food tasting fair, held at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva, featured an array of popular Korean products and dishes.
The embassy organised tasting events across various supermarkets in Suva leading up to this event.
Ambassador Shin-hee CHO hoped the food fair would contribute in raising awareness on a range of Korean food products for the Fijian market.
“Considering the increasing interests in health and well-being in the Pacific region, I believe Korean food which is known for its health benefits could create good demands in the future,” she said.
“With growing popularity of the K-POP and Korean trends around the world, Korean foods’ export is also increasing.”
Ambassador Shin-hee CHO said that there are only limited products available in Fiji.

“You will see many traders are carrying these products, and this is an indication of how these Korean dishes, especially the noodles, have left a footprint in the country.”
