Nineteen road-side stall vendors were handed their tenancy agreements during a visit by the Minister for Commerce, Trade, Tourism and Transport, Faiyaz Koya.

Mr Koya said the incentive should boost  business.

The 19 stall owners are from Labasa, Vanua Levu.

“These things are needed as it is good shelter for small business,” he said.

Some of the new stall owners were successful applicants of Government’s concessional loans

Meresiana Tinaikorisi applied for the grant to help her support her family.  Since they live near the river, her husband catches fish.

They sell at the roadside without any shelter.

“I am also grateful now that the minister has approved for us to sell vegetables, mats along with the fish,” she said.
