Lautoka lawyer and property owner of what is now known as the Natabua Industrial area in Lautoka, Vijay Naidu is spending over $2 million to develop his land.

The Natabua Industrial Division area was once a cane field site is now filled with commercial entities setting up a business there.

“The new development will have 10 lots, six of which are industrial and once finished it will have all the infrastructure fitted in.

“I have had a lot of interest for this new development,” he said.

Mr Naidu had already constructed a $5 million two-storey complex in the same area earlier this year which has 22 shopping outlets and a big warehouse.

Meanwhile, Arrow Concrete Ltd will soon complete their factory which would manufacture culverts, slabs and other cement products.

The investment for this factory would around $7 million when completed however the owners have refrained from making any comments until the project was ready.

AJYNK Electrical Ltd, one of Fiji’s leading electrical firms and owned by former Fiji Sugar Corporation Managing Director Abdul Khan was one of the first to set up in the area.

Also newly built UB Freight complex was running.

According to company officials, the New Zealand owners do not want any publicity.

Mr Naidu said the area would be fully industrial in a few years with land being quickly taken.
