The first-ever Spartan event in Fiji was held this month in Nadi and according to officials, it was a huge hit.

The event attracted participants from 25 countries and more than 3000 registrations. Spartan Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji managing director Chris Heverin said it was a great success.

"We had 3377 participants bringing in over $7 million for our visitor economy," said

Tourism Fiji chief executive officer, Brent Hill in the marketing body's November 24 update.

Mr Hill said the event's global media reached 1.6 million social engagements and 50.2 million social impressions, proving that Spartan Fiji was rocking it on the world stage.

"We were very pleased with the event. The site was wonderful. The set-up was very good, and I think there are lots of learnings that we can we can pick up from it," Mr Heverin said.
