Sometimes in life, you need to take a risk, you need to find out what you are capable of as a human being, and what else can you offer.
These were the wise words by Raffe Hotels and Resorts Group Director for People, Culture and Learning, Maivon Max Wahid.
The 39-year-old, single father to 11-year-old boy, Aarhaan Wahid and his three siblings were brought up by their mother at Jittu Estate.

The former Gospel High School student joined the British Army at 17-year-old completing operational tours in Afghanistan, Iraq and Bosnia, with three medals under his wings now.
He loves to be surrounded by people and this was when he realised his passion for Human Resources.
He then joined the Royal Bank of Scotland, before moving to Singapore for a new opportunity.
Five years ago, Mr Wahid moved back to Fiji and worked at Paradise Beverages, Coca Cola, Westpac and ANZ Bank.
He further developed his skills and HR talents and was given a chance to work in the tourism industry eight months ago.
“HR is a pivotal role, you deal with people’s emotions, their career progressions and their lives are at the palm of your hand, and that’s what we’ve been doing here at the Raffe Hotels and Resorts,” he said.
“We’re bringing our staff back, we’re psychologically strengthening them in their employee wellness. We are looking at ensuring that they have a career progression with us and wholeheartedly able to thrive, they bring their whole self to work, and be able to serve our guests better."
This reinforces our customer service offering in all that we do – across the tourism industry.
Mr Wahid is a graduate from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) in London.
He is pursuing his psychology units at the Australian Academic University and is registered with the International Institute for Complementary Therapists.
