Roshika Ranjana Kumar is the founder of Naviah Nails and Boutique, better known as the Nail Shop, a salon offering professional nail art and beauty services in Nadi.
After becoming a certified nail technician, Ms Kumar started doing acrylic nails and manicures in 2012 at her home.
In 2013, she officially opened her salon but like any first-time small business owner, Ms Kumar has dealt with her fair share of adversity.

“Things were very difficult and it took me a while to establish myself,” she said.
“To change people’s mindset that nails is a treatment to pamper yourself was very tough.
“But with a lot of sacrifices and hard work, we made it.”

What Do You Enjoy About Your Line Of Work?
I enjoy everything about my job. I love what I do.
I am proud of myself as a person for contributing towards creating the nail industry. I work with compassion not for the sake of money only.
What Are Your Favourite Local Restaurants Or Cafes To Eat And Unwind?
My favourite cafe is Corner Café in Nadi. My favourite restaurant is Grills Restaurant and Bar and also Cantina Grill and Bar on Port Denarau.
To unwind I find Port Denarau relaxing, especially after work on Saturdays.
