Fiji is unique for sightseeing and tourists love to explore its historical sites and hotspots, says Esita Elisapesi Tokalau-Baleilekutu.

The 28-year-old is the owner of Drop Out Bakes.

Ms Baleilekutu started her pastry business in 2020 and named it ‘For Heaven’s Cakes Fiji. Later, she learned that the name was already taken by an advanced home baker.

She had to come up with a new one and while doing so, she was called out by some people for being a “vuli va vo” ( school dropout) and that she wasn’t fit to be a business owner.

Today, she has proven that being a school dropout is no barrier if one sets his or her mind to become successful in business and cater for a family of their own.

Ms Baleilekutu said her parities are basically the typical Fijian delicacy like cassava pie with a mix of American influenced pumpkin and pineapple pies.

Where in Fiji would you take visitors to?

Oh, I would honestly take them for a Viti Levu road trip.

Visiting family members along the way just to reconnect.
