Soccer enthusiast and acting chief executive officer for Biosecurity Authority of Fiji Surend Pratap, comes from a farming background. Growing up in a farming community in Bua, Vanua Levu, impacted his decision to pursue agriculture as a career, he said.

Mr Pratap is a highly qualified experienced executive.

He has held the acting Chief Executive officer’s Position at Biosecurity Authority since 2019.

He joined the Ministry of Agriculture as a quarantine officer when he completed his agriculture studies.

In 1983, he joined the Fiji Quarantine and Inspection Service, known today as the Biosecurity Authority of Fiji.

How he describe himself? “Family man, easy to get along with others, and compassionate person,” Mr Pratap said.
