Life’s too short to stay in one place for long, says Fiji Association of Architects secretary, Setoki Tuiteci.

He owns Ethos Edge, a home-based architectural business that is eco-centric in designs.

His love for travel takes him to some of the country’s most remote locations.

What is the one place in Fiji you would take visitors to, and why?

First is Yasawa.

Then to the interior of the mainland, to show them the contrast available in Fiji - the sun, sand and sea, and the highlands.

I’d take visitors to Nakauvadra Range and Lovoni Hillfort, for the interest it stirs in ancestral and historical architecture.

What is your favourite place for a coffee or pie?

Weta and Moments for two different reasons.

Weta’s architectural concept offers the perfect setting for business meetings.

The choice of kava and coffee adds to the appeal in that respect.

Moments Cafe is more homely, and relaxed.

What’s your secret backyard spot, and why?

Anywhere where there is good company and a kava mix.

In my formative years, that was Suva’s foreshore.

Now it’s anywhere with good friends, or a core group - doesn’t matter where it happens.

What is one place in Fiji that is on your bucket list, and why?

Anywhere I can drive to.

I usually just get into my truck and drive until I reach the highlands of Nadarivatu or thereabouts.

Most times, I don’t realise where I’m going, until I discover that I have arrived at a new place.

I love driving.

I can drive from one end of the country to the other side, and back in a day - that’s my thing.
