Some members of the The All Blacks team checked into Vomo Island Resort in the Mamanucas, where special local rates are still offered at the luxury escape that remained opened for locals when the borders closed during COVID-19.
A luxury five-star getaway resort continues to offer local rates, as it promotes its Sunday Rocks Pool Party.
Vomo Island Resort – sprawling 200- plus acre escape in the Mamanucas – has 28 villas and five residents, allowing it to cater for a maximum of 100 people.
Booked to capacity for the rest of the year, the resort reopened on December 1, and recorded capacity 48 per cent per cent above its highest record ever.

“We’ve been full since the international borders reopened,” general manager, Justin King, said.
“We came down to 85 per cent capacity for just a day, but it’s been booked out since.”
The island offers private island rental options, which allows guests to hire their own island, and jet in, and relax, in an all buy-out package.
Vomo Island Resort is worthy of mention for the fact that it remained open for locals when international borders closed.
“We stayed open for locals and still offer local rates to thank supporters,” Mr King said.
“This will be effective for the rest of the year.”
"The Sunday pool parties at the luxury resort in the Mamanucas is also open to locals at special local rates," Mr King, said.
