Kevin Rotsaert manages Skyward Industries in Legalega Industrial Subdivision in Nadi.

He was born in Belgium but has been traveling since he was young.

In 2012, Kevin and his family decided to make Fiji their first permanent home and work to become part of the local community.

“I run Skyward Industries, a local company based in Nadi dedicated to creating new and exciting products, services, and technologies,” said Mr Rotsaert.

“Over the past eight years, I have had the privilege to visit most corners of Fiji, exploring the many hidden gems our islands have to offer.

“When I get the chance, I enjoy exploring new parts of Fiji, particularly the interior and places less travelled.

Here visitors can enjoy some of the many wonders of Fiji, including one of the largest waterfalls in Fiji (my personal favourite), a wonderful and welcoming village and a great trek through a bit of jungle.

Despite it being a long drive from the West, it is well worth it.

What’s your secret backyard favourite spot?

The Nausori Highlands. For many years I would drive up almost every weekend and have a picnic surrounded by stunning views, a nice breeze, and the quiet sounds of nature.

Although a little more popular now, it is still a fantastic drive and location, well worth for most people to go and enjoy.

What’s your favourite place in Fiji for a pie/coffee?

I very much enjoy having a coffee or snack at Eat Greek, which recently took over from another restaurant before it, located at the top of the Ramada.

I enjoy great views and this location has one of the best views of the Nadi Bay, while being able to enjoy refreshments.

Whenever I can, I try to enjoy the stunning views Fiji offers, even with a meal.

What’s one Fiji spot on the top of your bucket list?

Vanuabalavu and other Lau Islands.

I have had the opportunity to visit most other places in Fiji, but not this far.

It is at the top of my list of places I would love to visit these amazing outer islands and their people.
