Water will be available in 200-millilitre bottles in select local retail outlets in the Central Division.

Fiji Coconut Millers Pte Limited general manager John Deo said the shelf price was $1.95.

The drink can be bought from Extra Supermarket, Damodar City cinema area and Kundan Singh Supermarket.

Mr Deo said the product containing only coconut water has a 30-day shelf-life and needed to be kept in a cooler.

“The company put in a capital investment of $5000 for the initial stages of this project,” Mr Deo said.

“The project was only possible after a presentation of cost analysis was made to the board and upon their approval we started the small-scale production.”

He said they had the coconut water sample tested at University of the South Pacific’s laboratory and based on the outcome the company then produced for the market.
