A multi-million-dollar showroom and warehouse development on Nadi Back Road is expected to create jobs and strengthen Nadi’s position as a commercial hub.

The project, led by local entrepreneur and Nadi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI) vice-president Ashfaaq Khan, signals growing confidence in the region’s economic future.

Business leaders and members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat gathered lst Sunday for the groundbreaking ceremony of the new development by Unifurn Investments Pte Limited.

The project will feature a modern showroom and warehouse complex. It will be constructed by Al-Furqan Construction and leased by white-goods retailer and wholesaler Al-Hamd Smart Living.

Located beside the Motorex Complex on Nadi Back Road, the development is the vision of Mr Khan, proprietor of Unifurn Investments Pte Limited, Al-Hamd Smart Living and Al-Furqan Construction.

NCCI president Lawrence Kumar said local investment played a critical role in driving economic growth.

“Today marks more than the turning of the first sod. It marks the beginning of a new chapter of investment, confidence and growth in Nadi,” Mr Kumar said.

He commended Unifurn Investments Pte Limited and Al-Hamd Smart Living for undertaking the project, saying such investments create employment opportunities, strengthen supply chains and contribute to regional economic development.

Mr Kumar said the development reflected Nadi’s growing importance as Fiji’s commercial gateway.

“Projects like this demonstrate that growth is not only driven by large corporations, but also by visionary local businesses willing to invest in infrastructure, innovation and people,” he said.

Mr Kumar also acknowledged the involvement of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, saying values such as integrity, trust and community service were essential in building successful businesses and strong communities.

He extended his best wishes to the directors and management of the three companies involved and expressed confidence the development would become a landmark project for Nadi.

The foundation-laying ceremony was conducted by Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Fiji president Maulana Naeem Iqbal and company directors.
