Mystery Mongolian vessel in port

A mystery vessel berthed at Lautoka wharf has drawn public attention, as it awaits dry docking.

The maritime vessel Yavirau, has several local interests including prominent businessman Wella Pillay, who many say purchased the vessel for a Fijian chief living abroad.

While Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji has no knowledge of ownership or plans for the vessel, SunBiz has established that the Yavirau belongs to Tui Lakeba, Ratu Tevita Mara.

The vessel, bearing a Mongolian flag, is currently undergoing maintenance, after arriving in Lautoka a few days ago.
