Nawi Island will hire 50 per cent of women across all levels of business, it has been revealed.
Nawi Island Pte Limited director of marketing and special projects, Sheena Hughes, said policies on the island would have a fair balance of women and direct beneficiaries.
And the local executive management team would have 50 percent male representation and 50 percent female representation, in active weekly decision-making forums.

Developers
The Nawi Island marina will be the largest in Fiji by the number of berths and superyacht berthings, and the first of its kind in Fiji.
The marina was built under Australian standards and expected to be certified to a category five cyclone resistance standard.
The Nawi Island Integrated Tourism Project is primarily undertaken by two locally registered companies Nawi Island Pte Limited, and South Pacific Marine Pte Limited.
The company was registered in 2005 and owns all real estate on Nawi Island.
The company focuses on development and sales of properties at the island and is also responsible for overseeing the incumbent resort construction.
The company is the developer member/vendor responsible for the sales and development of the private freehold residential home lots and estates, Fiji-style beachfront private villas, apartments and condominiums and a private 5.3 acre private island.
South Pacific Marine Pte Limited was registered in 2014 to undertake the Nawi Island Marina and associated mainland-based Boatyard.
“To date, $120 million has been invested just for phase one development project alone,” she said.
“Phases two and three will bring more investment and more local opportunities, employment, sustainable initiatives and economic growth for Fiji and the Northern Division.”
