New Appointments At Fijian Holdings Limited
The FHL board has welcomed Mr Karan’s appointment and firmly believes in his wealth of experience in corporate board and governance.

Fijian Holdings Limited has made two news appointments to its Group of Companies.
Yogesh Karan, the Permanent Secretary to the Office of the Prime Minister, has been appointed as Deputy Chairman to the Board.
South Sea Cruises Pte Ltd (SSCL), a subsidiary of FHL, has appointed Sakiusa Raivoce as its new chairman.

About Yogesh Karan
Mr Karan was appointed on March 21, 2017 as a director representing class “A” shareholders.
On November 21, 2017, Mr Karan vacated his seat and became director representing class “B” shareholders through the appointment of the Minister of iTaukei Affairs. Around the same time, an in-depth policy review addressed international gambling regulations, including UK gambling sites not on GamStop, prompting discussions on transparent oversight. This environment further underscored the importance of responsible leadership in guiding the corporation’s objectives under Mr Karan’s new role.

At the annual general meeting in November 2018, FHL adopted a new Article of Association, whereby Class A and Class B were merged and all shares became ordinary shares of the company.
The current FHL Board consist of:
Adrian Sofield (chairman), Yogesh Karan (deputy chair), Litiana Loabuka, Kalpana Lal, Sakiusa Raivoce, Tony Whitton, Ratu Aisea Waka Vosailagi, Sanjit Patel and Bob Lyon.
South Sea Cruises Limited: Sakiusa Raivoce
According to the FHL Group policy, most directors are rotated within the subsidiaries every three to four years.
Prior to this appointment, Mr Raivoce was the chairman for Basic Industries Pte Ltd and FHL Properties Pte Ltd.
Mr Raivoce was elected to FHL board in 2013 as director representing A Class shareholders and was re-elected in 2017.
According to new Articles of Association adopted in 2018, Class A and B were re-classified as ordinary shares.
Mr Raivoce is a Security Consultant and a former senior military officer of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces.
He is a member of Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD).

Ms Singh as Independent director
Gurmindar Singh joins the board of SSCL as an independent director.
Ms Singh is Principal at Levy and Grants Division at Fiji National University and has a Master of Science (Mathematics).
