Obeyesekere Named CEO of SPX
Sri Lankan Sheraj Obeyesekere has been appointed as the new chief executive officer of the South Pacific Stock Exchange (SPX).

Sri Lankan Sheraj Obeyesekere has been appointed as the new chief executive officer of the South Pacific Stock Exchange (SPX).
According to Sri Lankan business news media, Daily FT, the appointment places him among the youngest chief executives in the stock exchange industry.
Mr Obeyesekere has 12 years of experience in the corporate sector, and has had roles at a global banking and financial services knowledge outsourcing firm. He has worked at an Australian managed IT services provider, the licensed Stock Market Operator in Sri Lanka and most recently the governing body for the sport of cricket in Sri Lanka.

Before coming to Fiji, he worked at the Licensed Stock Market Operator in Sri Lanka, the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) in 2016 where he progressed from the position of a Senior Executive to Head of Special Projects as part of the CSE CEO’s Office.
The SPX is Fiji’s only securities exchange, licensed by the Reserve Bank of Fiji.
