Labasa businessman Tej Singh has invested $100,000 in his new store, Classic Gifts, which officially opened on Thursday, August 28.
Mr Singh, who lives in Tuatua, said the shop was launched after a comprehensive market survey confirmed strong demand for affordable Indian clothing and accessories.
"I value my customers and ensure the best service is provided to them, so my shop provides excellent Indian clothing options with affordable prices," he said.

The new store offers a wide range of Indian sarees, lehenga suits, imitation jewellery, cosmetics and shoes, all imported from India. To help customers manage costs, the shop has introduced a lay-by system where items can be secured with a $10 deposit and the balance cleared within three months.
"We understand that the cost of living has gone up, so we have provided an option to lay-by and clear to receive their item," Mr Singh said.
The 45-year-old has been in business for 16 years and already runs two other shops. His latest outlet employs six staff and will open seven days a week, including Sundays from 10am to 2pm.
Opening day response
Located in the main street of Labasa, Classic Gifts attracted a strong crowd on its first day of business, with several customers immediately using the lay-by option.
"We are happy with the first day's sale and we hope we continue to receive the same love from our Babasiga Town each day," Mr Singh said.
Despite strong competition in Labasa’s retail sector, he is confident his shop will stand out because of its unique range of Indian wear.
