Pacific Building Solutions has commenced work on two of four projects for the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Fiji.

Over 100 construction jobs will be created for building developments that concern The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

It follows Pacific Building Solutions’ successful bid for four church projects.

The projects include the Tamavua stake centre and Toga Rewa chapel where construction commenced prior to the COVID-19 related lockdown.

The Toga Rewa chapel is expected to be completed this year.

The Tamavua stake centre should be ready by next year.

The other two projects are yet to be designed and built, Pacific Building Solutions said.

“We are still in the design phase; yet to mobilise onsite,” the company said.

Pacific Building Solutions will design and build the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ Bau Chapel and Savusavu Chapel.

“We expect construction to start on these two chapels within 60 days of when the construction industry is able to get back to work,” the company said in response to queries from SunBiz.

“At their peaks, we expect to employ 80 to 100 people at the Tamavua Stake Centre, and another 15 to 20 people at the Toga Rewa project,” the company said.

While the church and the construction company will not reveal the cost of construction,

Pacific Building Solutions said the projects were substantial and amounted to “many millions of dollars.”
