Price Hike On Food Will Be Addressed

Reducing prices on basic food items will be addressed.

That’s the assurance from the Min­ister for Finance, Biman Prasad.

“Be assured that the issue will be ad­dressed,” the minister told Sun Biz in an interview this week.

“If we can’t do it through tax policy, we can help vulnerable people through our expenditure and social policies.”

Mr Prasad, who is also the Deputy Prime Minister, said this was an issue that would be discussed in the lead up to the 2023-24 National Budget.
