The Fiji Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) is profiling three cases of unexplained wealth amounting to about $2.5 million.
It will then send the files to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
FIU director Razim Buksh told the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs yesterday that unexplained wealth was where people cannot explain where or how it came from.

Mr Buksh said it could be linked to crime or even cannot be.
He said the law states the properties can be seized by the State.
“We haven’t had any such cases so far but we have three now,” he said.
Mr Buksh told the Fiji Sun after submitting the FIU’s annual report for 2018 to the committee that one case involved $250,000 while two were more than $1 million.
“So it’s about $2.5 million in total,” he said, adding that he could not comment further as the cases were still under investigation.
