Pure Fiji Diversifies To Hand Sanitizer Gel

In light of the recent develop­ments regarding COVID-19 and the impact it has had on businesses around world, Pure Fiji has started producing the Hand Sanitizer gel.

With this new diversification, the hand sanitizer gel are now avail­able in the market at affordable prices. The hand sanitizer gel are available in 60ml, 300ml and 500ml.

Founders Gaëtane Austin and her daughter Andrée, came up with the idea of producing Pure Fiji hand sanitizer gel in a bid to counter the impact COVID-19 was having on their business.

“We just met a month ago and talked about the recent develop­ments regarding COVID-19, what was happening in China and the impact it will have on businesses.

“We knew that there would be a demand for hand sanitizer gel as the virus moved across the globe, and basically we wanted to pro­vide a service to the local commu­nity, first of all to our staff.

“Because we had a lot of tourists from cruise ships coming in and visiting the factory we thought we will make it for them.

“After that we thought we’ll just open it up to the local commu­nity in Fiji, where they can have nice hand held quality hand gel because we’re using all cosmetic graded ingredients.

“It comes in infusions such as vanilla coconut and fresh pepper­mint which is with a peppermint essential oil.

“For customers who prefer Reniu we have it in coconut.

“During this time people can be a little bit anxious, the infusions will help with a little bit of anxi­ety or stress. So it’s like an aroma therapy.”

Ms Austin said with the diversifi­cation to Pure Fiji hand sanitizer gel, it also a bid to ensure that their staff are employed full-time.

“Another reason why we didn’t want to elevate the price of the hand sanitizer gel, was because it should be affordable to a broader spectrum of people.”

Pure Fiji, is a locally-owned company with 100 per cent local staff manufacturing natural bath and body products using extracts and packaging sourced from ru­ral communities in a sustainable manner.

The cosmetic manufacturing company based in Vatuwaqa man­ufactures two brands Pure Fiji and Reniu.

These products are supplied to the exclusive Spa, Resort and Tourist markets and include ho­tel amenities and corporate gifts, thereby contributing to signifi­cantly reducing Fiji’s import bill given these are manufactured in Fiji. Pure Fiji exports to China.
