Multi-billion-dollar proposals for national infrastructure are being drawn up for climate change funding, Minister for Public Works, Transport and Meteorological Services, Ro Filipe Tuisawau said yesterday.
His comments come on the heels of a high level gathering in Nadi, where leaders have gathered to discuss climate financing.
The state of national infrastructure reflected the fact that it was not build with climate resilience in mind, Ro Filipe said.

"These ongoing issues with infrastructure which are not adequately climate resilient - yes, nothing will be 100 per cent climate resilient - need better strategies and planning," he said.
"To that end, we are compiling a report on rural bridges and roads, or road portions, which need to be upgraded to at least some degree of resilience, rather than the current flood existence of our long-suffering peoples.
"I aim to have these, and other reports formulated into a few billion-dollar proposals for implementation within the next 10 years.
