If you’ve learnt something of value in your professional journey, then itwas not a waste of time, says Hasheel Ram.
Mr Ram is a bookkeeper at Associated company Streamline Business (Fiji) Pte Ltd.
He was recently awarded the 2022 Bookkeeping Employee of the year by Institute of NZ Bookkeepers.

Born and raised in Suva, the 26-year-old said his biggest inspiration were his parents.
Mr Ram completed his bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Economics at the University of the South Pacific and is now pursuing a certified public accountant (CPA) Australia.
“I was filled with a rollercoaster of emotions at first when I found out I was the winner, I could not even believe this had eventuated,” he said.
“It was one of those rare moments that rendered me speechless. It was a blessing to even be a finalist alongside my two amazing colleagues who are also from Fiji.
“I am super excited and filled with joy to be receiving this award.”
Mr Ram dedicated his success to the admin Army/Streamline team.
“They are all truly pioneers in their respective fields. This award is not mine but for every team member to share.
“I get to work with an incredible team that helps me elevate myself as a professional and an individual. It really does take a village or in my case an army who brings out the best in me and I could not be more grateful to the entire team.
“I also would like to dedicate this to my family and friends who have been supporting me throughout my entire journey which has led to this award today.
He advises youths to have a learning approach and an open mind towards everything.
“That journey never ends.”
