“Not only will it bring financial benefits for them, but also the mental well-being of getting back to work, feeling productive and of course doing what they do best – delivering a special experience for our guests.
“For arriving guests also – many have held deposits with us after booking before COVID-19 and have remained patient and loyal, so finally having them in Fiji is so special.
“The team at Six Senses Fiji are very grateful for this opportunity to re-open our beautiful property and welcome our valued guests back to Fiji.”
The property on Malolo Island situated in Vunabaka, Malolo Lailai, has 24 villas categorised into 12 beachfront pool villas, six hideaway pool villas and six hideaway pool suites.
The island is also home to Ahura Resorts’ Likuliku Lagoon Resort and Malolo Island Resort.
Six Senses Fiji has directly employed 136 staff with indirect employment ranging from auxiliary suppliers on food and beverage, uniforms, maintenance and housekeeping supplies and the local village suppliers.
Three-day Quarantine Removal
Given the removal of the three-day mandatory quarantine announced last week, Mr Kitchen said it allowed for a seamless and more positive experience for our guests.
“Of course, we remain committed to current protocols for our guests and staff,” he said.
The resort continues to invest in Fiji with upcoming projects to be announced after the reopening.

The resort re-opening is clearly an indication of investor confidence and tourism confidence. That said, how are bookings looking like for the resort in 2022?
We are very pleased with our first months of operation with strong demand from the Australian and NZ markets.
Call volumes and demand is high and also strong demand for our winter high season from the USA market.
What Is Your Commitment To Local Travellers?
We continue to welcome local travellers.
They should always contact our reservations team to enquire about local rate opportunity’s and value adds.
What Challenges Can You Highlight That Is Perhaps Hindering Further Growth For Resort Or Tourism In General?
Coming out of COVID-19 will remain challenging, and we are all experiencing supply chain delays.
Getting materials and produce is more difficult and more expensive than ever.
Many resorts are based on islands, so this increases the delivery costs.
In saying that, there is certainly a pent up demand for travel, and Fiji has all the right ingredients to deliver an exceptional experience to our guests and to finish the year with solid occupancies.
