Stephen Wright takes over as hotel manager at Sheraton Fiji resorts

An experienced international hospitality executive, Stephen Wright has been appointed to lead two major Denarau properties as Marriott strengthens its Fiji operations.

He is looking forward to his new role as hotel manager of Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort and Sheraton Denarau Villas, where he would oversee the operations and support the continued delivery of premium guest experiences and operational excellence across the properties.

Mr Wright said he was excited to join Marriott International Fiji Resorts and contribute to one of the South Pacific’s leading resort destinations.

“It is a privilege to join such an iconic resort portfolio and work alongside the talented teams across Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort and Sheraton Denarau Villas,” he said.

Mr Wright brings more than 20 years of international hospitality experience across Asia, Europe, Australia and the Middle East, with a strong background in hotel operations and food and beverage leadership.

Throughout his career, he has held senior operational roles with internationally recognised hospitality brands, including executive chef positions at JW Marriott Medan, The Star Sydney, Shangri-La Rasa Ria and Marriott Marquis City Centre Doha.

He later moved into the role of corporate director of food and beverage – culinary for the Middle East and Africa at Marriott International, where he oversaw culinary strategies, revenue growth and operational consistency across the region.

Mr Wright most recently served as executive assistant manager at Sheraton Saigon Grand Opera Hotel in Vietnam, a position he held from October 2022.

His achievements include being named runner-up in the Marriott Vietnam 2023 Excom of the Year awards, Marriott ACE Awards Executive Chef of the Year 2016 and Hotelier Middle East Executive Chef of the Year 2016.
