Around 60 Tanoa Waterfront Hotel staff in Lautoka gathered to mark World Tourism Day on Tuesday with the theme ‘Rethinking Tourism’.
Area General manager Fiji Narend Kumar commended his staff for their dedication and loyalty to the industry.
“This year’s theme certainly highlights the tourism sector being recognised as an important pillar for development for us,” he said.

Mr Kumar said that it was important for tourism employees to understand their roles in building and showcasing Fiji as a tourism destination.
“In the last few years we have felt the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in our midst, now we have to move forward with new thoughts in place,” he said.
