Tawake sets up logistic business on Ovalau

Swire Shipping Fijian Drua prop Samuela Tawake is focusing on life after rugby while reflecting on lessons from a challenging season.

He received the Flick Hygiene Personal Development Award at the McDonald’s Fiji Drua Presentation Night at the Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa earlier this week.

Mr Tawake was recognised for showing outstand-ing initiative and discipline in developing his life-after-rugby plans while balancing the demands of professional sport. He has also established business ventures with his wife.

His commitment to personal development and long-term planning made him a deserving recipient.

“I have a small logistics business back in Ovalau

that provides transport services,” Mr Tawake said.

“When opportunities come our way, we need to use the platform well to set ourselves up for life after rugby. Those are some of the things we’ve been do-ing.”

His wife Siulia Alvina Tago acknowledged the ef-forts of her husband and said she would continue to support him.
