The Fiji Food Truck is back in business, this time with an addition of hearty meals to its fast food menu.
Located at Loftus Street for over a week now, the truck – famed after its initial introduction as a landmark feature in the film industry, ends its daily operation in a sellout.
“The hot sellers are the variety of eight burger meals and three different subs,” said professional chef Heinrick Volmer yesterday.
Menu
Other meals include tamarind rice with either periperi chicken wings or salt and pepper prawns.

Parking fee
The Fiji Food Truck owners Jarel Kamea and his wife Pauline were not available for comment yesterday.
The truck pays a parking fee for three lots at the Deep Sea car park at Kimberley Street, said Deep Sea owner and director Albert Chand.
“They had to vacate the service station across the street because of fumes, and asked that they park with us temporarily while the Suva City Council works on regulating their operations.
“We were only too happy to help them for reasons that included the fact that FNPF Dolphin Plaza – the only food mart with a variety of ready-made meals at this end of the city, is closed for renovations.
Creating employment
“Secondly, The Fiji Food Truck continued to employ people through its circumstance.”
Mr Chand said the park space which was leased monthly had been vacant for a while as businesses in the area relocated to operate from home.
Suva City Council chief executive officer Azam Khan said the council was working with the authorities to draw up guidelines.
The Fiji Food Truck opens daily at 9am and closes once meals are sold out.
