We are nothing without our people, says Reddy Group director Kamini Reddy.

“Our people represent the brand and what service means to our customers.”

Ms Reddy made these statements during the Tanoa Group quarterly awards night on Wednesday.

Fiji general manager Naren Kumar said, “We at the Tanoa hotel Group, at the forefront we recognise our employees every single time."

“Now we are back after COVID, we are strong and we are looking forward to this kind of event that will motivate our people."

“This is all about Tanoa. Our first preference is our people and we need to look after them to be successful. He added that they have been hosting awards night and do not want to wait for long."

“We just want our employees to be recognised, give them the motivation and we will continue to do this.”

He added that the majority of their staff has returned despite there being a lot of opportunities out there but they choose to stay with Tanoa.

Sanjila Prasad, 36, scooped the Heart of House award. She joined Tanoa Plaza Hotel as a trainee in 2014.

Three months ago she was promoted to being a shift leader for the housekeeping department.

“This is exciting and challenging for me. I thank my team for choosing me to be a part of this,” she said.

Ms Prasad is from Wailevu, Labasa. She attended St Augustine Primary School and Labasa Muslim College.

She completed her Diploma in Hotel Management from the then Fiji Institute of Technology, now Fiji National University.

“During COVID-19, we were sent home. When things were normalizing, I was recalled. There were other job options for me, but I love the Tanoa way.”
