Top Accounting Students Recognised
One student each from the Eastern, Northern and Southern Division and two students from the Western Division.

The Fiji Institute of Accounting had recognised five top Accounting students from the Year 13 exams.
One student each from the Eastern, Northern and Southern Division and two students from the Western Division.
The five students are Agnes Laila Shah of Nilsen High School, Hetal Solanki of A.D Patel College, Kristel Andrea Lat Dena of Jai Narayan College, Pawan Pranit Kumar of Lekutu Secondary School and Teresia Ofa Talei Loco of Levuka Public High School.

Ms Sha, Ms Solanki,Ms Dena and Mr Kumar all scored 100 per cent in Accounting. Ms Loco scored 94.
Ms Dena said the award would boost her to work harder.
The 19-year-old scored 391 which was the highest mark achieved in Fiji for Year 13 External Exam last year. She is originally from the Philippines.
“I am really overwhelmed, and this means a lot to me,” Ms Dena said.
“To be recognised like this will boost our confidence to do more. I am the first in the family to be doing accounting. I really had to sacrifice my sleep to study early in the morning and it was all worth it.
Her mother Elsa Dena said she was proud of her daughter’s achievement.
Mr Kumar thanked FIA for recognising his hard work.
“I am blessed to be one of the five that has been awarded tonight,” Mr Kumar said.
“To be away from home can be hard but I know that all the sacrifices I am doing now are for a good reason.
“I will make sure that I don’t let the FIA down and I will continue to make my parents proud.”
FIA vice-president Tarlochan Singh thanked the students for their hard work.
“We have had these awards for about five years so far. This initiative is aligned with the institution strategic plan to create awareness for the future members of the institute and building FIA as a brand not only for Fiji but the Pacific,” Mr Singh said.
“FIA is the only local accounting body that has the responsibility to ensure that we are able to guide, assist, and to ensure that the accounting standard is maintained.”
