Fiji has a rich and diverse food culture that stems from its peoples’ proud heritage, history and deep-rooted traditions.

When exploring the food scene in Fiji be prepared for flavours that both excite and surprise your tastebuds!

Since moving to Fiji last year, Tourism Fiji chief executive officer Brent Hill has been trying out some new foods and we’re happy to share his

Top 10 picks as he continues to explore Fiji’s culinary landscape.

Here are his top 10 picks:

- Eating ‘kokoda’ (fish in coconut milk) served at the Shangri-La Yanuca Island, Fiji is heaven and by far the best I have tasted in Fiji thus far.

A uniquely Fijian dish!

- The special breakfast at Nanuku Resort Fiji with their Tree Top dining!

You have an amazing and unique dining experience atop a platform in a tree, eating breakfast and overlooking the water– its surreal and a must-do!

-  Dive into the champagne, cheese, bread and charcuterie from Royal Davui Resort on their Beqa Lagoon Sand Cay experience.

You’re driven out by boat onto your very own private sand cay and left alone with a bottle of champagne and some food and fruits to soak in your surroundings.

A truly incredible bucket list moment!

-  The Fish Bar Restaurant at the Marriott Resort Momi Bay has a delicious Mahi-mahi fish dish with a selection of local SouthPacific Salts to choose from as garnish.

Dine as the sun sets, and take in one of Fiji’s most iconic views, looking out over the bay towards Cloudbreak, eating fresh fish caught that day. Perfection!

- This next lunch spot is one of my go-to faves and I think it has the best butter chicken I have ever tasted and some great local Indian cuisine – eat at Indigo Restaurant in Port Denarau.

A definite go-to if you’re staying in Nadi.

- The Lamb Kibbeh from Byblos Fiji ‘A Taste of Lebanon’ Restaurant at Radisson Blu Resort on Denarau is truly something special – and you can go and eat there even if you’re not staying.

They have a wonderful selection of beautiful Mediterranean meats and mezze.

A unique food option found nowhere else in Fiji!

- For all our caffeine lovers out there, Musket Cove Trader Café has a great brew!

Pulling up at the café is an experience in itself on Malolo Cat, and when you add enjoying your coffee outside under a tree or in the garden – simply divine!

- Pizzas from Cloud9! Name me a better combination for lunch than dining on an over water reef platform, wood oven pizza, tunes, beverages and beautiful sun!

- I know a friend who flew to Suva just to eat at An Pho.

I get it.

Some of the best Vietnamese I’ve ever eaten, with the Vietnamese chefs bringing out incredible dish after incredible dish.

No visit to Suva or the Central Division is complete without going here.

- Looking for a great tasty meal in Namaka, Nadi?

Grab a bite at Vasaqa Productions who have dubbed themselves as the home of Nadi’s Spit Roasted Meats.

Be it breakfast, lunch and dinner, their menu is filled with fresh local ingredients, big hearty serves and its worth every dollar!

Pay the boys a visit!
