The Government’s plan to review taxes on tourism aims to better our competitiveness.
Two Government ministers have promised to review taxes placed on tourism, following research by an Australian university professor that identified Fiji as too expensive a destination.
Currently, tourists in Fiji pay a range of taxes, including nine per cent value-added tax, 10 per cent tax on environment and climate adaptation levy, and six per cent on service turnover tax, as well as a flat departure tax of $200.
