The Esivo Resort Mini Mart which opened in Lomolomo, between Lautoka and Nadi last week, will bring a relief to farmers living nearby.
The new supermarket boasts lower prices on many goods compared to some major shops within the central business district of Lautoka and Nadi.
United States of America businessman and former Lomolomo resident, Bimal Singh who owns the resort and invested $65,000 in building the mini mart said this was just what was needed during these times of rising costs.

“I am saving people from surrounding areas and villagers from Vuda and Lomolomo a lot of money in travelling costs to town to buy goods,” said Mr Singh .
“I made sure that while I open this mini mart I must also look at keeping the prices better, if not comparable to those in the main town areas.”
For those living around Lomolomo and those going for a picnic at the nearby beach, there is somewhere you could shop without having to travel.
Mr Singh said he was working on building a play area for children to amuse themselves while their parents shop.
“With the rising cost of fuel and prices of goods, we as business people must look at ways to cushion the impact for ordinary people and farmers and that is what I have done,” he said.
“I am also arranging for live music every fortnight beside the mini mart to entertain those coming there."
“My message to the people of Lomolomo is simple – don’t waste money on gas because we have what you need in this mini mart.”
The mini mart opens weekly from 7am to 8pm.
