Vatuvara Private Islands Gets Two Nominations

Vatuvara Private Islands has been selected as a finalist in the Accommodation Luxury and Tourism Sustainability categories at next Saturday’s ANZ Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards.
Made up of Kaibu and Vatuvara Islands, it is owned and developed by billionaire founder of Oakley and RED Digital Camera, Jim Jannard.
Its three luxurious villas have been home to many Hollywood stars and millionaires from around the world.

General manager Robert Miller said it was a “good feeling” to be nominated in two categories for the FETA awards.
Mr Miller, who has been in the tourism industry for over 40 years with a majority of that spent on Wakaya, said the Vatuvara Islands were one of the most beautiful places in the world.
“It is Private Island and that is why we get a great deal of guests from the high end market.”
He said the resort has been involved in maintaining the sustainability of marine life and has extended that to the nearby villagers by teaching them how to sustain their livelihood.
