VISA unlocks economic opportunity
Multinational payment giant to launch first Pacific-led operation in Suva, with recruitment underway for regional leadership.

The central bank has praised efforts to introduce a multinational payment solution to Fiji.
Governor Ariff Ali said it was good that VISA was launching its operations in Fiji.
VISA has advertised the position of head of Pacific Islands, and said Fiji would be home to its first people-led operation.

“This is a foundational leadership opportunity ti build VISA’s presence from the ground up,” a statement from the company said.
“With direct access to senior decision makers and a seat at the leadership table, your infulence will extend the Pacific.”
The application period for the position closes in November.
Association of Banks in Fiji and Westpac chief executive Shane Smith referred all queries to VISA.
Questions sent to VISA were also unanswered three days after this edition went to print.
